We are pleased to announce that on 15 October 2026 at 5:00 p.m., an open lecture by Prof. Paul C.W. Davies of Arizona State University will take place in the Main Auditorium of the University of Szczecin. The lecture, entitled “Navigating the Quantum Wonderland”, is being organized on the occasion of Prof. Davies being awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Szczecin.

Prof. Paul C.W. Davies (see his profile) is a world-renowned theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and science communicator, and a recipient of the Templeton Prize. His research interests include, among others, quantum field theory in curved spacetime, black hole physics, cosmology, fundamental laws of physics, and the origin of life. He is the author of more than 200 scientific papers and 31 academic and popular-science books translated into numerous languages. Prof. Davies was among the pioneers of research on radiation associated with horizons and on the thermodynamic properties of black holes. His scientific work also includes studies of the early Universe and of the connections between fundamental physics and astrobiology.
